Vernazza (5 Terre): olive grove tour and oil and wine tasting

Hike one of the least known but most captivating trails in the Cinque Terre. After a brief but engaging visit to the town of Vernazza, we will begin our ascent along the enchanting mule track, reaching the 13th-century Sanctuary of Our Lady of Reggio, located at an elevation of approximately 1,080 feet (330 meters), in about an hour. During the climb, we will enjoy stunning views of the Cinque Terre coastline, with its characteristic terraces supported by miles of dry stone walls, where olive trees and grapevines are grown to produce fine wines. In front of the shaded square of the sanctuary stand a monumental cypress (the oldest in Liguria!) and a majestic holm oak. Before heading back down, we will visit the enchanting olive grove of the Azienda Agricola La Bottega, where Ligurian PDO extra virgin olive oil is produced. You will also have the opportunity to visit two friendly ponies, who are the farm's mascots. In the shade of a pear tree, you can enjoy light refreshments, including a tasting of Cinque Terre extra virgin olive oil and our La Bottega wine, accompanied by traditional Ligurian focaccia. For children, locally produced, zero-mile juices will be available.
