Buio Pesto Experience - Sarzanello Fortress

Come and discover the local cuisine in an exceptional location. We look forward to seeing you at the Sarzanello Fortress for a journey to discover the flavors of the region, with a view that sweeps from the Apuan Alps to the sea. An unforgettable evening of history and cooking. We will start with a short guided visit of the facility, then pick fresh basil on site and prepare real pesto with a Carrara marble mortar, guided by the chef who will tell us stories and interesting facts. Immediately afterward, we will move on to the Sarzanese testaroli: you will learn how to make the dough and cook them in the traditional iron pans, just as it was done in the past. At the end, we will sit down to eat on the panoramic ramparts of the Fortress to enjoy the result. Dinner includes the testaroli with pesto you made, a glass of Vermentino dei Colli di Luni, and an original basil tiramisu. Before saying goodbye, we'll give you a small souvenir kit with a jar of your pesto, the event apron, the official recipes, and a certificate of being a guardian of Ligurian flavors!
