Description
For a full day of about seven hours the boat is yours alone on this private boat tour of Cinque Terre. It is a modern 9-metre boat for up to ten people, with a sun deck, table and seating, a shower, a toilet and a fridge on board, steered by a skipper with a guide who knows the theme of the day.
The route begins with the islands of the Gulf of Poets and reaches Portovenere, a medieval village crowned by the Church of St. Peter, with the Byron Cave below it. Then you enter the marine park, whose waters are said to host dolphins and whales, and stop at Canneto Beach for a swim and some snorkeling, with music and an aperitif.
After that the five villages pass one by one from the sea:
- Riomaggiore, where the Via dell'Amore begins
- Manarola, on its jagged cliffs
- Corniglia, on its high promontory
- Vernazza, with its amphitheatre-shaped harbour; a taxi boat can take you in for lunch
- Monterosso, for the cathedral and the wine bars
On the way back there is one more swim stop at Guvano. Fuel, skipper, water, drinks and music are included, lunch is not. The trip is not recommended for people prone to seasickness or with certain health conditions.
