Description

Originally known as the Palazzo del Governo, it now houses the Prefecture and the Province. It is the work of Franco Oliva, a prominent figure in the cultural context of La Spezia in the first half of the 20th century.

Built in 1928, the building still reflects the eclectic influences of the late 19th century, with rusticated walls, pedimented windows, and composite columns. The sculptural decoration is the work of Augusto Magli.

The building's atrium, with its staircase and wooden ceiling, is remarkable.

Some of the stained glass windows were created in 1957 by Raffaele Albertella.
