Description
Located in the western outskirts of La Spezia, near the Buggi and separated from the old nineteenth-century walls by Pegazzano, lies the Parco del Colombaio.
The park rises behind the Alberto Picco stadium and there are those who, when Spezia plays, are content to peek at a small sector of the field, visible from a small knoll that opens up in a straight line over the center circle and a few square meters of grass (which, by the way, is now synthetic, speaking of changes).
Today, the Colombaio is a significant green lung for the western part of the city thanks to its trees, many of which are tall specimens. Recently, additional plants have been added in accordance with the Law of the Republic, which requires municipalities to plant a tree for every newborn.
