The majestic Sarzanello Fortress will welcome you with its timeless charm, ready to give you an experience you will find hard to forget!
At 3 p.m. its ancient gates will open wide for you... and from there the magic will begin! You will admire Sarzana from above, the beautiful Apuan Alps with their marble quarries, and over there, on the horizon, the sea shimmering under the sun.
But it's time to get down to business: put on your apron and get ready to harvest the most fragrant basil there is! With the expert help of the chef, you'll learn how to make real Genoese pesto using ancient Carrara marble mortars. An act that smells of tradition, stories passed down and authentic flavors.
And as the scent wafts through the air, let yourself be carried away by the tales, secrets and legends that tell the origins of the world's most beloved sauce.
But that's not all! You'll also discover the original recipe for Sarzano testaroli, a gastronomic treasure of our town, and you'll be the one to cook them in the traditional iron texts, the way they used to be made.
Finally... everyone to the table! Pesto meets testaroli on the panoramic terraces of the Fortress, in an explosion of flavor that will be completed with a glass of Vermentino dei Colli di Luni and an amazing basil tiramisu.
