As we ascend, the path weaves inland, treating you to magnificent panoramas of La Spezia and the Gulf of Poets. Zigzagging through lush vineyards, we'll reach Colle del Telegrafo, perched at around 500 meters above sea level. After a quick breather, it's time for a thrilling descent towards Volastra, an ancient village nestled within the Cinque Terre National Park on the eastern Ligurian Riviera. Now, for the cycling highlight! Prepare to be amazed as we cruise along one of the most stunning coastal roads in eastern Liguria. This is the legendary Cinque Terre coast road, a provincial route connecting the famous fishing villages. Perched high above the sea, it offers truly unforgettable, jaw-dropping views of the Ligurian coastline and the iconic Cinque Terre. Our first stop is Manarola, one of the most captivating and romantic villages in the Cinque Terre. Picture this: colorful houses clinging to a 70-meter high rock face, overlooking the azure sea. Next, we'll arrive at Riomaggiore, the first of the Cinque Terre villages you encounter when coming from La Spezia. This southernmost village, dating back to the 7th century, exemplifies the beauty of the Cinque Terre, with its vibrant, typically Ligurian-colored houses built on two or three levels, surrounded by lush Mediterranean vegetation. Alright, let's hop back on our bikes and continue our ride along the panoramic Litoranea, heading towards our return point!
